Past and Present Education: What is the effectiveness? Did you know that America used to be the leader in education? Well, now America is ranked 36th in the world. American education has many flaws, but it also has some good parts. Education in the past was very good, partly because the students were more focused, and also because school was a privilege. Present education has more distractions, and some students just hate school because they think it won’t help them. They just want to quit. Looking at past and present education, past education was mostly successful, present education is half successful and when they are compared, present education could use some work. American education is ok, but could be better. American education isn’t very good because of the lack of discipline and more distractions. When America took the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) test, on a scale of 1 to 1000, and America s average score is 481, while the whole world’s is 494.
